Smoked Holiday Whiskey

It’s a holiday anytime this whiskey is served! A month in the making, this cocktail is worth the wait. Whiskey is infused with the flavors of apples, cinnamon and cloves, all of which are given a smoky, oak flavor. A spectacular holiday drink—any time of year.

Ingredients

  • 8 each
  • Dried apple rings, not dried chips
  • 2 each
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • 5 each
  • Cloves
  • 1 tsp
  • Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp
  • Brown Sugar
  • 8 each
  • Allspice berries
  • 3 tbsp
  • Medium toasted American oak chips
  • 1 tbsp
  • Dark toasted American oak chips
  • 1 bottle
  • White corn whiskey

Procedure

  1. Combine all ingredients except whiskey in a mixing bowl.
  2. Heat smoker to 180 deg F.
  3. Place combined ingredients on a foil lined sheet tray. Smoke for 45 minutes. Remove and allow to cool to room temperature.
  4. Pour the smoked ingredients in a 32oz mason jar. Pour white whiskey into the jar, cover with lid tightly. Shake the jar very well until sugar is dissolved.
  5. Allow the whiskey to sit 25 days at room temperature followed by 5 day refrigerated.
  6. After 5 days, the whiskey is clear and ready to drink.
